Ob boy do I need a better and wider lens

Ob boy do I need a better and wider lens

When everything is blue and the flowers are yellow, I get weak at the knees – it is all too much for me – contrast, contrast and more contrast.

Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh la la - the fairest Cape of them all

oh la la - the fairest Cape of them all

Just to explain quickly; there are 2 roads from Muizenberg to Kalk Bay;

  • One is coastal
  • The other is up in the mountains

Boyes Drive is the one in the mountains, with stunning views and a really good place to spot the whales.

Hope the driver stays on the straight and narrow!

Just to give you guys and girls out there an idea of how scenic the railway line is between Muizenberg and Simon’s Town is.

The cost return of this +- 30km journey is US$ 2.00 return (Muizenberg – Simon’s Town – Muizenberg)

Which way old chap?

Which way old chap?

Got hooted at for taking this picture, as they say green is for “GO”, so why have I stopped to take this picture? This was the question asked by the old b#g*r behind me – lol.

Oh, and while I am bitching – the individual who critisized my writing skills can go and take a long walk off a short pier. This is a photo blog not a literature blog, moron!

OK feeling better now that is off my chest.

I just loved all the blues so it stayed in colour, what I am trying to say that it also looks very good in B&W.

As you can see “Harold” the seagull came with us to buy some fish at the Hout Bay Harbor, he recons he is into fish but I do not believe him.

Fishermen

Oh boy, do I want to go with them and catch a few, obviously a crate of beer and a few sea sickness pills are compulsory – but I am sure I would survive.

Cape Town's Fynbos

Cape Town's Fynbos

Just another example of what the western Cape region has to offer those who are interested in macro photography and flora. Absolutely no idea what these plants are, all I know is that they are very very beautiful.

In the Tokai (constantia) area of Cape Town there is a tree in a forest that is strange. The main trunk is +- 1.5m high, from this point it branches into 4 individual trunks, and I am standing  on the main short trunk looking up at the four trunks.

Learning to fly - ooops surf

Learning to fly - ooops surf

This is one of those great things in life that a father get to participate in. Teaching one’s kids the way of life and surfing.

The kid never managed to stand up, but the balance he showed was fantastic, well done.
